Emisiunile monetare atribuite
domniei lui Alexăndrel sunt de două tipuri, aparte față de tipurile tradiționale
din perioadă.
The
coins attributed to Alexandru II are categorised in two types, each
apart from the traditional style used by his predecessors.
TIPUL
II
Monede în sistemul groșilor, de factură similară cu a unora din
monedele atribuite domniei lui Alexandru cel Bun, însă legenda e în limba slavonă
(care apare pentru prima dată pe monedele moldovenești) și este indicată denumirea
monedei pe avers.
Coins
struck according to the groats standard, but with legend in slavonic
(for the first time on Moldavian coins) and with the indication of the name
of the coin on obverse.
Av. Cap de bour cu stea
între coarne, la dreapta rozetă din trei globule și la stânga semiluna.

Auroch head, star between horns, at right rosette, at left crescent

Rv. Scutul
asimetric despicat: I trei grinzi, II cinci flori de crin dispuse 3/2. Deasupra
scutului M.

Asymetric shield: I three bars,
II five lilies, 2/3. M above the shield.

TIPUL
V (Alexandru cel Bun)
Monedele
de acest tip sînt atribuite lui Alexandru cel Bun în MBR, dar au fost reatribuite
lui Alexăndrel după criterii stilistice (Traian Biță, Opinii privind emisiunile
monetare din timpul lui Alexăndrel, BSNR 131-133 (1983-1985))
These coins were previously attributed
to the reign of Alexander I but now they are considered to be issued by Alexander
II (being very similar in design to the coins above).
